World of Warcraft movie grabs Source Code director

FILM DIRECTOR Duncan Jones is taking the director's chair for the upcoming film adaptation of World of Warcraft.

Jones directed Source Code and the low budget indie thinker Moon. According to the Hollywood Reporter this is Jones' first "big budget tentpole movie".

The film adaption called Warcraft has a $100m budget but no leaked plot details so far.
Let's take a stab at one. Someone gets an axe or a sword and repeatedly hits other people with it. Plus magic and monsters and boogiemen.

The script is being written by Charles Leavitt, who wrote the Kevin Spacey spacemen flick KPax. We expect that it will involve a little bit more than face stomping.
It is expected to start filming later this year and be released in 2015, an incredible 21 years since World of Warcraft was unleashed.

Typically movie versions of popular games are as enjoyable as falling into a metal fence. Titles like Street Fighter, Doom and Resident Evil have been disappointing, if good business, while others such as Halo languish in development limbo.  wow power leveling

The game World of Warcraft has over 10 million subscribers. If the film translates even a fraction of these into movie goers it will probably do okay business at the cinema. But everyone knows how film versions of games play out - and that is usually, very, very badly.
